The Primrose is a perfect combination of our ultra-comfortable Forager moccasin design and a classic ballet flat. This beautiful ballet flat will give you all the benefits of truly minimal footwear but is nice enough to wear on more formal occasions. Don't sacrifice your health or your comfort for a cute shoe!


As always, our shoes are flexible, zero-drop, and have a foot-shaped toe box, and are made in the USA. The leather has a short break-in period, so it is ok if they are a little snug when you first put them on. Leather is an extremely flexible and pliable material and will relax and stretch some with wear. You may need to go down 1/2-1 full size than your typical street shoe size. Please note that this is a dyed leather and as such, the dye can rub off on skin or clothing especially when first wearing the shoes. This will reduce over time.

Favorite shoes...some sizing issues

I have had a pair of mahogany primrose since 2019. I added a gunmetal (silver) primrose in 2021. I wear them 1-4 times per week all year long and LOVE them!! They are by far my favorite shoes.

My original pair was a size 9. I had to size up to a 9.5 in the gunmetal. I thought this was due to a different material. When ordering a new mahogany and a black pair in September 2026, I again ordered size 9. Fortunately, I was accidentally shipped a size 10 in the black. The size 10 matches my original 9, and I have returned the new mahogany for a size 10. (For reference, my foot still measure as a 9 on Unshoes sizing guideline.)

Additionally, the insoles in my new pairs are much longer than the insoles in my old shoe despite the actual outer soles being shorter. This causes the insoles to bunch and not lay flat. I will be trimming them to fit better.

The seam at the back of the black pair sticks out and is harder than my other pair. It digs into my heel. I think it will soften with use.

I attached pictures showing the new mahogany versus old (both size 9) showing the outer length difference and insole length difference. Also, there are pictures of the new mahogany (9), gunmetal (9.5), and black (10) for size comparisons of length and insole.

Our sizing is based on standard shoe sizing and is typically true to size, however, we suggest measuring your foot and and using the shoe size chart below to determine the best size for you. Stand with your heel against a wall and place a ruler or measuring tape along your foot to measure the total distance from the wall to the longest part of your foot. If you already own a pair of Unshoes sandals, you will likely wear the same size but please check the chart to make sure. Please see additional sizing information below chart.
