The Terra Vida is not just a "lifestyle" shoe, it is a movement lifestyle shoe! It is designed as a versatile everyday shoe for active people that will move with you in a wide variety of situations. It features elastic so you can slip it on and off easily, but it has a more snug fit around the ankle so that it is secure as you move. This vegan shoe is made of 100% hemp canvas with a brushed 100% cotton liner. This model features a thin 6mm stack-height. As always, it is made in the USA, is ultra-lightweight, zero-drop, flexible, and has a roomy toe box to allow your toes to function naturally! The hemp canvas will stretch and mold to your foot after a short break-in period.

Hemp naturally doesn’t take dyes as well as some materials and therefore has a tendency to fade faster than cotton and synthetics.

Below are internal measurements between seams. Please note that these are hand made, and there may be some slight variance between measurements and each individual shoe. Also, keep in mind that the hemp does stretch and there is a break in period. The upper has a tendency to fold inward toward the foot for a few days while the shoes are broken in so it sometimes feels smaller than it is. These are not suited for people with a high instep.

An everything shoe

These might be my favorite shoes. I have life long issues with foot pain but these let me walk much longer with less pain. I can wear these for just about everything- my #1 gardening shoe, long walks on hard surfaces, hikes that don’t call for boots, out and about with casual dress outfits, and even on beach walks where I want to wear a shoe I can easily take on and off that stays comfortable even when they get wet and sandy.

I wear them without socks and even in super hot weather find the footbed to be very comfortable because the uppers breath well.

There is something perfect for me with the sole of these. The large pattern on the outsole has enough thickness to be super comfortable and grippy with just enough squish to stay comfortable. The key seems to be that the sole has space between the lugs so it is still very flexible. They are a sweet spot of feeling thin and flexible while also being thick enough that I can wear them all day without my usual early onset foot pain.

The only part that needs a little break in is the seam around the heel. When brand new I can feel this seam a little, but after a few wears it softens and disappears. Not painful, just noticeable for my somewhat sensitive feet.

I even have an extra pair in a larger size that I wear with socks when it starts to get too cold to be sockless.

Uncomfortable sole

I love the top material and the barefoot feel bot the bottom rubber is really uncomfortable. For the price I would hope for a comfortable sole as well.

Most comfortable shoes

Love these shoes. Possible the only shoes I've put on and they are comfortable first time wearing. I have a pair that fits perfect without sock and a pair that fits perfect with socks. I can wear them all day, no matter what I'm doing, and they are still comfortable.

Used to love these...

These were the perfect slip-on shoes... unit they stopped lining the footbed with fabric. The rubber footbed is uncomfortable, sweaty, and bad for skin. A real deal-breaker.

The Perfect Casual Shoe

This shoe is perfect to slip on with a summer dress or a cute pair of shorts. The hemp fabric is lovely and cool for summer wear and the neutral color goes with everything. The minimalist sole gives amazing ground feel and flexibility!

Our sizing is based on standard shoe sizing and is typically true to size, however, we suggest measuring your foot and and using the shoe size chart below to determine the best size for you. Stand with your heel against a wall and place a ruler or measuring tape along your foot to measure the total distance from the wall to the longest part of your foot. If you already own a pair of Unshoes sandals, you will likely wear the same size but please check the chart to make sure. Please see additional sizing information below chart.
