The Terra Vida is not just a "lifestyle" shoe, it is a movement lifestyle shoe! It is designed as a versatile everyday shoe for active people that will move with you in a wide variety of situations. It features elastic so you can slip it on and off easily, but it has a more snug fit around the ankle so that it is secure as you move. This vegan shoe is made of 100% hemp canvas with a brushed 100% cotton liner. This model features a thin 6mm stack-height. As always, it is made in the USA, is ultra-lightweight, zero-drop, flexible, and has a roomy toe box to allow your toes to function naturally! The hemp canvas will stretch and mold to your foot after a short break-in period.

Hemp naturally doesn’t take dyes as well as some materials and therefore has a tendency to fade faster than cotton and synthetics.

Below are internal measurements between seams. Please note that these are hand made, and there may be some slight variance between measurements and each individual shoe. Also, keep in mind that the hemp does stretch and there is a break in period. The upper has a tendency to fold inward toward the foot for a few days while the shoes are broken in so it sometimes feels smaller than it is. These are not suited for people with a high instep.

Used to love these...

These were the perfect slip-on shoes... unit they stopped lining the footbed with fabric. The rubber footbed is uncomfortable, sweaty, and bad for skin. A real deal-breaker.

The Perfect Casual Shoe

This shoe is perfect to slip on with a summer dress or a cute pair of shorts. The hemp fabric is lovely and cool for summer wear and the neutral color goes with everything. The minimalist sole gives amazing ground feel and flexibility!

They changed the footbed. The heel is very uncomfortable now -- the now rubber footbed (instead of fabric like before) is so narrow in the heel that the side seams cut into my foot and leave deep, painful impressions. I'm dismayed to have spent this kind of money on a product that they actively made worse and it nearly unwearable.

Great replacement for Toms

I had a pair of Toms that I really liked but were far too narrow once I switched to barefoot shoes. These are definitely wider than Toms and I (fairly wide foot) feel that I have plenty of space in the toe box. Midfoot is a little snug but I expect that to stretch somewhat. So far it feels very durable. The sole is thicker than I expected with a more aggressive tread but that's fine with me. Upper materials feel great.

My only issue is the rubber insole. I don't find it very comfortable on the bottom of my feet if worn barefoot for longer periods of time, especially if my feet sweat. Leather or even a different texture would be an improvement but there's likely not enough room for a different insole.

I had to exchange for a different size and customer service was very helpful throughout the whole process.
Lastly, as maybe the only guy buying these, they definitely work for men too.

Stand with your heel against a wall and place a ruler or measuring tape along your foot to measure the total distance from the wall to the longest part of your foot. If you already own a pair of Unshoes sandals, you will likely wear the same size but please check the chart to make sure.
